Annual Crime Victims' Rights Week Candlelight Vigil April 14
posted on 03/30/2016.

Join Mayor Katapodis and Chief Handy on Thursday, April 14 at 7:30pm at Pier Plaza as the event will honor courageous victims, survivors of victims and the victim advocates.

The event will build public awareness to what victims and their families go through, and to celebrate the fact that victims can become survivors. Candles will be provided to the first 100 people.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is April 10-16 and the theme, “Building Trust, Restoring Hope,” presents the opportunity to highlight the diversity of our communities, expand partnerships to serve victims of crime, enhance efforts to meet victims where they are, and empower crime victims as they pursue justice and recovery.

The Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
