Public Comments - the Public Works Commission welcomes public comments on all items on this agenda or of community interest.  Three minutes per person, time may not be donated to others.  Commission on this date can take no action on any item not on the agenda.  This is the time to address Commission regarding items of interest or agenda items other than public hearings.  Communications on agenda items will be scheduled such that public comments may be received as close to 5:00 p.m. as possible.

F-1.  Fiscal Year 2010/11 CIP Projects Review

G. INFORMATION ITEMS

G-1.  Active Capital Project Report - An update on active capital projects is presented for the Commission's information.  Project information, including description, location maps and funding sources can be found in the FY 2009/10 Capital Improvement Program notebook, or on the city's website under Government, Current Budget information.

G-2. Upcoming City Council Study Sessions - The City Council conducts public Study Sessions on the evenings of City Council meetings, normally beginning at 4:00 p.m., in Room B-8. A tentative listing of upcoming sessions is submitted for the Commission's information.

H. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

H-1. Removal of Crosswalk on Heil Avenue at Bradbury Lane - The existing school crosswalk across the west leg of the intersection of Heil Avenue and Bradbury Lane is recommended for removal in conjunction with the construction of a traffic signal at Heil Avenue and Trudy Lane. State law requires that the public is notified and provided the opportunity to respond prior to elimination of any marked crosswalk.

Funding Source Funding for the recommended action has been previously authorized by the City Council with the award of construction contract for Safe Routes to School, Spring View Middle School, CC 1367.

Recommended Action. Motion to: Direct staff to take the necessary steps to remove the school crosswalk across the west leg of the intersection of Heil Avenue and Bradbury Lane.

H-2. Sewer Lining Project, CC 1339 - Plans and specifications for CC 1339, Sewer Lining Project, are in final preparation. Staff is seeking support for the project and the initiation of the competitive bid process.

Funding Source: Funds in the amount of $100,000 are budgeted in the Sewer Service Fund, Sewer Lines, 51189002.82600. Additional funds will be allocated upon project award. The engineer's estimate for the project is $238,000.

Recommended Action. Motion to recommend to the City Council, the Sewer Lining Project, CC 1339.

H-3. Reconstruct Residential Tree Petition Streets, CC 1374 - Plans and specifications for CC 1374, Reconstruct Residential Tree Petition Streets, are in final preparation. Staff is seeking support for the project and the initiation of the competitive bid process.

Funding Source. Funds in the amount of $375,000 are available in Gas Tax funds, account 20790001.82300 and $550,000 from Measure M Funds, business unit 21390004.82300. The engineer's cost estimate for this project is $886,000.

Recommended Action. Motion to recommend to the City Council, CC 1374, Reconstruct Residential Tree Petition Streets.
